give, and take?

She gives up

her name (to take his own)
her wishes (maybe a career, maybe a choice of veg-non-veg food)
her body (something she has learnt to hide since the day since she was born, sth precious, sth holy)
her parents (not altogether, but in so many cases, it still is true)
her freedom (yes, it also happens..)

...all this... and more for three silly words....

So true...woman have to give up on so many things...and the worst part is that we never think about all this...like this a very normal and expected..

girls. sometimes I feel some guys can never really get(understand) the depth that a girl can totally feel. her love. omg. the most genuine and crazy thing is a girl in love. pure love.

i disagree... not beg to disagree, just plain disagree....

rain girl said...

@007... i agree... but then, i am really lucky. not everyone is.

*hugs* thanks brother..

rain girl said...

@khamakha... :)

rain girl said...

@Prakhar... agreed. but still, there are people who do understand this..

rain girl said...

@gomu...you know...I agree but disagree. It all depends upon the people involved. you cannot generalise things. and there are men who have gone crazy in love.... women are sometimes more practical, and the emotional fools they are made out to be..

rain girl said...

@marvin.. tell me something new...

Mister Avant Garde said...

women are always at the 'giving' end more and the 'receiving' end less... guess that's why women are revered and worshipped, whilst men are, well, just noticed ...

rain girl said...

mister avant grade... :P ah! bingo! you hit the nail... :P

on a serious note, women may be worshiped, but they are also beaten, murdered, raped.. what not...

your post just spoke to me.
recent events have me thinking on the same lines. its like im going 2 steps ahead and taking a step backward all the time now.

rain girl said...

@N... it happens with all of us. it's a phase, let it be..

marriage blues?!

All these things, hmm, I dont know if they really matter at times. I feel the real adjustments are the emotional and mental one...

kinda disagree here and well, men indeed do go through a lot too...

rain girl said...

@ d gypsy... marriage blues indeed but not what you are thinking...

trust me, sweetie, everything matters. and yes, i never said that men don't give up on a lot... i was just stating something i have observed around. to agree or disagree is your choice.

Mys Lyke Meeh said...

She gives up..yah her choices too.

Her name--(depends on the girl)

her wishes (depends upon the mutual understanding between the two)

Her body ( *ehem*)well, at least to the one she love..

her parents ( they always love her)

her freedom ( ahh, this is what I don't like about marriage) hehehe!

Silly three words...but this silly words --- makes her sane and makes her world go round and round! and round...*Eyes sparkle*

I agree. Mostly yes. Also, contrary to the usual belief, its not restricted just to the Indian wife.. nai?

Very nice thinking. Was apt a thought for the Women's Day...

@ Mys Lyke Meeh
somehow i don't totally agree with you. but then, to each his / her own...

rain girl said...

@Ashen Glow.. no, no. Not just to the indian wife.

but i was discussing what i have seen around.. nothing here is fiction... but then, that's life...

Mys Lyke Meeh said...

No worries girl...

yes, each to his/ her own

but the bottom line of it all....

"It's Love"

rain girl said...

@ Mys Lyke Meeh.. :)

rain girl said...

@hfm... agreed! and people just shrug as if to say, "that's life"....

A beautiful blog out here....
A very emothinal post with very little words.....

Ricky said...

I think we are at an age where one (he or she) has to give and take in every relationship. Give and give won't cut it out in today's time :)

rain girl said...

@Sum.. thank you, and welcome here. :)

rain girl said...

@Ricki.. agree. but not totally.

think. about any girl you know who's giving too much in her marriage and not getting anything in return? now tell me, how many names? if none, i love your country.

americanising desi said...

i like the sound of givin up my name to take his!

Ricky said...

I can think of couple of girls who are giving too much and hardly getting anything in return but compared to my parent's generation that number has gone down significantly. Infact, even in my parent's generation women are now fighting back and asking for their rights.

rain girl said...

@Ricky.. true. but the number is so, so little..even now...

though sometimes, i am glad. what would homes be without a selfless, accommodating woman?

rain girl said...

@americanising desi.. for you, it maybe nothing. for others, it's an obligation. losing a part of their identity to appease their husbands n his family.

Thats why women has got such a high respect in the society. Though, I agree that they are ill-treated in many cases but can you imagine a man to get the respect that a mother or sister gets in the society.

With man, you talk of freedom, where is freedom to cry, freedom to be a lil sissy.

Though the sacrifices a gal makes are incomparable but she gets her dues with time
